Celebrities Vast Accumulated Wealth
Iconic celebrities usually end up in possession of vast amounts of wealth. Their deaths become a cause for sorrow and grief and their possessions offer an extremely personal insight into their lives. This article talks about what happened when the estates of Prince, Alan Rickman and Ronnie Corbett were examined.
Prior to his passing away, Prince possessed real estate and cash worth up to $25 million. His inventory showed that his total estate was worth a massive $300 million. He had developed a portfolio of property investments and has also accumulated $110,000 in four bank accounts, prior to the overdose. Apart from that, there were 67 ten ounce bars of gold, which have an estimated value of $840,000. His two motorcycles and instruments have not yet been valued.
Bremer Trust is the company compiled and inventoried Prince’s assets and submitted the same to Carver County’s probate court.
Many properties were listed that were in the counties of Hennepin and Carver in Minnesota.
However, there is a considerable portion of Prince’s estate that has yet to be valued, according to the District Court of Carver County.
Prince passed away on April 21, 2016 due to an overdose of fentanyl, a pain killer. He was 57 years of age.
He passed away intestate, however the value of his estate is estimated to range from $100 to $300 million, prior to applicable taxes.
The companies NPG Records Inc, Lotus Flow3r, NPG Music Publishing and Paisley Park Enterprises Inc were in possession of over $6 million cash, when he passed away. According to the inventory, NPG Records also has receivables worth over $6.8 million.

As of now, Tyka Nelson, his sister and Norrine Nelson, Sharon Nelson, John Nelson, Alfred Jackson and Omarr Baker, his half siblings, have been designated as his heirs.
Two properties that were owned by Prince were sold for $390,000 cumulatively. This happened in Chanhassen, Minneapolis.
The biggest of these was land that measured 1.82 acres. This was sold at $240,000.
The other property, which measured approximately half an acre, was sold for $150,000 right before Christmas.
Apart from these properties, there are two other properties which have not yet been sold. One of these is a wooded lot that measures 1.5 acres and the other is a home, styled like a ranch of the 1960s.
Alan Rickman, Ronnie Corbett And Others
The wills of Alan Rickman and Ronnie Corbett are more known for the unusual insight they offered into their personal lives. The wills revealed the vast fortune that they had successfully accumulated and the people who they had designated as the inheritors of their estates.
According to Andrew Kidd, who works at Clinton’s Law Firm, the documents – which anyone can access – afford a special insight.
Kidd said that it was really interesting to see that, in spite of their stature as politicians or superstars, they dealt with ordinary mundane tasks such as bequeathing £5,000 for their gardener or jewellery for their god-children. They went right to the basics.
Corbett, famous from The Two Ronnies, ensured that his immediate family inherited the bulk of his estate, which was valued at £3.5 million. The beneficiaries of his will also included his grand children, god-children and his gardener to whom he bequeathed £2,000.
Alan Rickman, known for his iconic role as Hans Gruber in the movie Die Hard, declared the causes for which he wanted to leave a legacy, in the event of his wife passing away before.
The greater portion of his estate, which was valued at £4.0 million, was bequeathed to Rima Horton. He had also specified that the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art and the charity Saving Faces were causes that held a special place in his heart. He had wanted for them to have a share, should his wife die before him.
Alan Rickman’s will, only provided instructions for how to wind up his estate in the United Kingdom. Rickman also possessed property in Italy and the United States.
The magician Paul Daniels probably owned estate which was greater than £1.5 million in gross value. However the net value was calculated at approximately £500,000. This was bequeathed to his assistant and wife Debbie McGee.
Iron Mountain is the company responsible for the digitization and storage of these wills, along 41 million others. The company was hired by the HM Courts and Tribunals Service to do this.
According to Kidd, documents like these satiate a certain curiosity about wanting to know how these celebrities deal with facing the inevitability of dying and subsequently handle the passing of their possessions.
Kidd added that everybody is affected, because there comes a time when people have to think about their property and hence their wills and their loved ones. Nobody gets to see a person’s will till they die and till the time that a grant of probate is given. Therefore reading a will can be a difficult task.
The wills of celebrities are a point of fascination for people. It may not be particularly exciting but it’s fascinating to see how much they had possessed and who benefitted from their fortune.
According to Kidd, this is an age in which a great portion of the lives of celebrities is on display on social media and other online forums. However, the instructions that are left by the famous after their passing reveal a profound insight that will always be unique.
All the information that is currently available is compiled by people who are part of an industry that specializes in this. The will of a person contains direct instructions from him/her, and is not filtered through other people. It’s a record that depicts how that person felt towards their loved ones and how they wished for their estate to be winded up. The will shall always remain a point of interest.
