Moorcroft Pottery Still As Popular As Ever
Todays house contents valuation for probate took me to Wokingham in Surrey for the daughter of her late mother. This was a very tidy and respectable home and a pleasure to appraise as the deceased lady had spent a lot of time living overseas resulting in a very interesting mixture of furniture art and objet das of a very diverse and collectique nature. some items from this century and some from the 19th century. I almost missed a beautiful Pomegranate vase by William Moorcroft that was almost hidden on top of a Victorian corner cabinet fitted high up on the wall in the living room, and after reaching up from a chair i found it to be perfect and worthy of a value in the region of £250
Moorcroft pottery values are fairly consistent and prices can be easily calculated from past auction results with some of the rarer large pieces made for Liberty and Co achieving as much as£4000. Serious collectors of Moorcroft pay a premium for a rare item such as a small loving cup with a green Pomegranate pattern which i acquired for William Moorcrofts grand daughter about seven years ago
Residual Contents Furniture Art And Collectables
Having valued the contents of the living room which included a long case clock, oak refectory table with calf leather chairs a selection of Chinese 19th century ceramics, bronze vases and some respectable art and prints all having a reasonable value and along with the silver and jewelrey it amounted to around £2000. Finishing off with general household items and personal possessions then back to the office to prepare an official typed and bound probate report ready to post ut to my client for submission to Inland revenue for Inheritance Tax Calculations
Accurate And Professional Valuations Backed Up By Years Of Experience
Probate reports and valuations should always be conducted by a professional as Inland Revenue are constantly challenging executors if they consider the values to be unrealistic or inaccurate possibly because the valuer has little experience or poor credentials. Avery Associates have an excellent track record with Inland Revenue providing over 1500 probate valuations per annum and to date have never had a report rejected therefore making matters of administration for executors as easy as possible and free from challenge by Inland Revenue officials
